Refinery29 Pamela Love Tribal Necklace Contest

Native American Headdress
Happy Turkey Day, everyone! For family dinner at my cousin’s house, I made myself a Native American Headdress. Please realize this is totally not accurate, I just thought I’d throw something cute together. I cut some black fabric I found in my closet into strips and weaved into one long braid:
Then I pulled the feathers off my duster I used for a Halloweekend costume (don’t worry it’s clean) and hot glued it onto the middle of the ribbon. I then tied two pieces of gold rope to tie the headdress around my head and tied to the main black braid some hemp with beads weaved in:
Here’s the final product:
Needless to say, my family was surprised, maybe even embarrased, to see me show up in this number (with fringe moccasin boots and feathered necklace of course). Go big or go home. Happy Thanksgiving Day, All!
